Goldener Windbeutel 2013

So here i animated the little windbeutel / cream cake type thing for Bildbad and Kai did the rest. The character was just a little flat png so i added little knobbly kneed legs- no bending at the knees, the ballerina dress thing covered this up. i added some expressive little hands and arms, and made him dance around the 5 pillars examining them. I think the end position was changed position so he gets sped up a little, but he's a cute little character i think.

Wimmel book

I worked with Eric again. we designed a game based on the Wimmel book / wheres wally idea. An interactive book where you had to search for characters. It had elements of multiple language learning and counting but could be changed so that an older age group could play as a collecting game. I designed loads of characters and environments - it looked really beautiful but due to time restrictions we have put it on hold at the moment...i provisionally titled it "the Hidden Zoo"-we will see what happens

Jiggy Shapes

This was a little bit of work i did for Mumpower games. I designed the splash screen, the titles screen and animated the in game triangle narrator characters - Eric designed the game and everything else and just needed my help with a few little design and animation touches at the end. Triangles and all animated sequences exported as teeny tiny little pngs and compiled in the game by Eric. No lip syncing sadly - this would have been fun but we chose not to do it. Have a look for jiggyshapes on the app store - download it if you like.
Check out the splash screen and title screen here

Quarks & Co : Mars Bermuda triangle

This was a cute animation. the characters were really simple jelly bean heads with lovely expressive arms. i animated the 3 characters for the explosion scene ; the celebration scene and also the side shot of the character pulling his hair out, all the other bits were added later.

Quarks and Co : Boss Stress

This was the first outing of the jelly bean heads. I really like it.I animated the doctor and the professor where they prod the little guy in the glass box; the next scene where they inspect the guy at the desk; the professor when he shows the graph and the last scene where the boss congratulates the guy on the desk.I really like the head turns on these guys- it was so easy to just shift the features over and deform the head to make them look to the side.. really simple but i think it looks great.

JaJa NeeNee

I made this video based on Ren and Stimpy- see the intro card and slight grossness- and old Hanna Barbera cartoons. These characters dont have to do as much and so are alot simpler than Ren/ Stimpy but i like them- the animation was simplified due to time contraints- i think it took about 6 weeks: little bit of research, characters, storyboard/story, animation- compositing, adding sound effect. Research was aided by JohnK's blog check it out for a great running history of animation. The band just wanted a crazy idea for the video so i had a little think and this popped up. The guitar sounded a bit like it was being played in the wilderness... i tried to fit a few things around the lyrics and the idea of having the guy use the roadkill to make music for him came up and developed...i like the penguin... check out the Buzzdees website...
